Director & Founder of Pixida Films

Natalia Galgos

Natalia has worked in the field of forced migration since 2017 in Tel Aviv, Thessaloniki, Athens, Lesvos and London, with international organisations such as UNHCR, the Red Cross and the EU. She noticed limits to working with established large-scale programmes of humanitarian relief, namely because of their short-term and top-down approaches. That’s why, she started exploring intersectional methods offering a more holistic outlook to the complexities of forced migration. She supported the launch of the festival Refugee Week Greece and is an MA SOAS graduate in Migration, Diaspora studies with Intensive Persian, and currently works in the charity sector in London. As a creative, she believes that art can be used as a medium to connect people and places.

With Pixida Films, Natalia aspires to bring forward discussions and experiences that can change the way people relate to the subject of migration and to each other.

Hannah Gursoy

Hannah has focused her research and advocacy on the socio-politics of the Caucasus and Middle East, with particular emphasis on the regions of Syria, Iran, Armenia, Kurdistan and Turkey. Her work spans issues like forced migration, ethnic minority rights, and gender-based violence, delving into the lived experiences of those affected by conflict and injustice. Through her work, Hannah has explored the intersections of human rights law and advocacy, developing a holistic approach that goes beyond conventional frameworks to address deeper societal issues.
